"Beyond the Horizon" is a studio album by the artistic project Periwinkle Dawn, released on June 13, 2026, by the EtherPrometeuz label. The work flawlessly blends the modernity of synthesizers with the energy of analog instrumentation, moving between electronic, ambient, and rock.
Structure and Production:
The album consolidates the production and compositional signature of EtherPrometeuz releases.
Composer: Pierpaolo Beretta
Producer: Simone Beretta
The absence of a full orchestra allows the two creators to focus on a dynamic and impactful structure, where the pinpoint precision of electronics merges with the typical progressions of rock music.
Musical Style and Atmosphere:
The title "Beyond the Horizon" suggests a sense of journey, transition, and discovery, elements that are clearly reflected in the hybrid nature of the songs.
Electronic and Ambient: The tracks rely on deep synthetic textures, hypnotic drones, and expansive soundscapes that create a strong sense of spatiality and abstraction.
Rock Incursions: Unlike the label's purely electronic works, here guitars (real or sampled), precise bass lines, and a more assertive rhythmic drive emerge. The song structures recall cinematic post-rock and space rock. Dynamic Contrasts:
Pierpaolo Beretta's compositions consistently play with chiaroscuro. Long moments of reflective quiet and ambient isolation gradually develop until they explode in powerful, distorted, and liberating sonic climaxes.
